A temple in northern Thailand
Wat Hua Wiang is a historic Buddhist temple in Mae Hong Son in northern Thailand. The temple has a rich history dating back to the early 19th century.
According to local legend, Wat Hua Wiang was founded by a group of Burmese monks travelling through the area in the early 19th century. Said to be inspired by the natural beauty of Mae Hong Son Valley, the monks decided to build a temple there.
Over the years, the temple grew in size and importance, becoming a centre of Buddhist scholarship and learning. The temple was also a popular destination for pilgrims and devotees, who travelled far and wide to pay their respects and seek spiritual guidance.
